There are condo communities that are specifically for people that are age 55 and over. Some people really enjoy living in these communities during their retirement. In many cases a couple or individual is tired of keeping up their single family home and sell it to move to a 55+ community.
Some of these communities are designed as 1 level living with no stairs with aging in mind. Some 55+ condo communities have events like card games or bingo that the people in the community can participate in.
The 55+ communities are not limited to just people over 55, up to 20% of the residence can be younger than that by law.
